SIKADA

We connect properties

Find the perfect match for your holiday home by engaging local talent

How does it work ?

SIKADA is a peer-to-peer platform that connects property owners with local service providers.
Property owners can create requests for services they need for their holiday homes, such as cleaning, maintenance, or rental management.
Local service providers can browse these requests and offer their services by sending messages to the property owners.
Once a property owner selects a service provider, they can communicate directly through our internal messaging system to arrange the details of the service.

Definition of Home Owner

A Home Owner is an individual who owns a (holiday) property and is seeking local services to manage, maintain, or enhance their property.
In the original concept of SIKADA, Home Owners are defined as persons who own a holiday home abroad and rent it out during the summer season. In reality, they don't live in that property full-time, so they need some remote assistance for maintaining the building, garden, pool, etc. However, the definition is not limited to holiday homes only. Home Owners can also be individuals who own primary residences and require local services for upkeep, repairs, or improvements.

Definition of Service Provider

A Service Provider is an individual or business that offers services to Home Owners for the management, maintenance, or enhancement of their properties.
In the original concept of SIKADA, Service Providers are defined as persons who are living abroad and are looking for extra income by providing services to holiday home owners in their area. These services can include cleaning, gardening, pool maintenance, repairs, rental management, or other.

Creation of a Profile

Any SIKADA user needs to create a personal profile before being able to use the website.
This profile includes basic information such as name, address, email, telephone number and a profile picture. These data are stored according to our privacy policy and are GDPR compliant. Profile information is only visible to other registered SIKADA users when they interact through messages or requests.
The profile can be edited at any time (including a password reset which is available via the login screen) by the owner and can be deleted together with all associated data.
Signing up as a Home Owner or Service Provider is free of charge. Signing up implies acceptance of our terms and conditions as well as our privacy policy.

Creating a Property/Service

After the creation of your profile, and depending on your chosen role, you need to create 1 or more Properties or Services.
Home Owners need to create a Property listing for each of their holiday homes, including details such as the address, a small description and a (visually appealing) photo.
Service Providers need to create a Service listing for each service they offer, including details such as the type of service, a description of what is included and the validity of the offer (start date / end date).
SIKADA does not validate images but we expect users to upload only appropriate and relevant photos. If a user uploads inappropriate content, SIKADA reserves the right to delete the content and/or suspend the user's account.

SIKADA provides a static list of services from which Service Providers can choose when creating their Service listing. This ensures consistency and makes it easier for Home Owners to find the services. If a particular service is not included in the list, users can suggest new services to be added by contacting SIKADA.

Launching a Request

All SIKADA users can launch Requests for services they need. For home owners, a request typically means a request for a specific service related to their property, such as cleaning, maintenance, or other.
A home owner can create a request for a specific property, by describing the needed service, the preferred date and any other relevant details. The image of the property is automatically included in the request.
Requests are visible to all registered SIKADA users, so service providers can browse through them and offer their services by sending messages to the home owners.

Service providers can also create requests, generally to offer their services to other SIKADA users (mostly home owners). A service provider can create a request for a specific service they offer, by describing the service, the availability and any other relevant details. The image of the service is automatically included in the request.
Requests are visible to all registered SIKADA users, so home owners can browse through them and contact the service providers by sending messages.

Requests are valid for 1 month before they expire and are automatically deleted from the system. Users can delete their requests at any time before the expiration date (recommended). Please note that all related messages are also deleted when a request is deleted.

Sending Messages

All SIKADA users can send and receive messages related to requests. Therefore, the initial message always starts from a request. If you find an interesting request, you can respond to it by sending a message to the request owner.
At the time of responding, your name, email, image and region are visible to the request owner, so they can evaluate your offer.
Once the request owner receives your message, they can decide to respond back and continue the conversation through SIKADA or through an external messaging system (preferred).
Please note that SIKADA does not facilitate payments or contracts between users. All agreements must be made directly between the users.
SIKADA reserves the right to monitor messages and suspend accounts that violate our terms and conditions or privacy policy.

We encourage people to give as much information as possible in their messages to increase the chances of a successful match.
Messages are stored for a maximum of 3 months before they are automatically deleted from the system. Or if the related request is deleted, all associated messages are also deleted.

Use of Email

SIKADA users must register with a valid email address. This email address is used for account verification, password resets, and important notifications related to their account and activities on the platform.
Users will receive an email in the following situations:
